A quick guide to two of Melbourne's major business districts

Melbourne is Australia's second largest city and a major business hub in the country. It's a cosy city with widespread shopping, museums, galleries, amazing architecture, wildlife, theaters, a fantastic cafe scene as well as friendly locals.

Melbourne is a much sort after destination for holidaymakers as well as for those travelling for business, but many people who emigrate to Melbourne permanently choose to live in this multicultural city since it has so much to offer. Melbourne CBD

The Central Business District of Melbourne has tramlines running across the area. The retail zone consists of the central shopping centre, including the Bourke Street Mall, Swanston Street Mall as well as Collins Street which is home to exclusive retailers and jewellery stores.

Chinatown, established in the 18th century is also part of the CBD. The well-known Federation Square, which sits next to the Yarra River, is where the city's official visitor information centre is located. Melbourne Docklands

Melbourne Docklands is a suburb located in the city's Central Business District. Many major shopping malls, cafes, restaurants, pubs and live entertainment can be enjoyed within the Dockland's precinct. The 7km waterfront overlooking the Victoria Harbour is one of the significant features of Melbourne Docklands. The part of the CBD is called the Docklands Waterfront City. Here, you can experience a 30-minute ride on the Melbourne Star – a giant Ferris wheel with excellent views of the city. From here you can also see the Dandenong Ranges in the distance.
